We are excited to announce the addition of the survey-grade Geocue Trueview 540 LiDAR sensor to our toolkit. The TrueView 540 integrates survey-grade high-precision LiDAR, an accurate positioning and orientation system, and a 45mp full-frame industrial camera. This next generation of LiDAR offers enhanced density, improved accuracy, and precision, thereby producing a superior point cloud. This powers us with best-in-class lidar and best-in-class processing software providing our clients with a superior product from a reliable system built by geospatial professionals for geospatial professionals.
At Spitfire we strive to continually improve the quality of our survey deliverables. The Trueview 540 LiDAR system features high-precision LiDAR technology, comparable to the range, density, and accuracy of high-end industry-standard payloads. Its high pulse rate (500khz), small beam divergence (6.6cm diameter at 100m AGL), eight returns, engineering grade laser (1550nm wavelength), and long range (400m range at 20% reflectivity) provides excellent performance in its class. British Columbia’s forested areas dense with canopy and ground vegetation require a powerful laser, small beam divergence, and remarkably high pulse rate to achieve the best possible ground surface estimation.
The TV 540 is a single beam engineering grade measuring device using a 1550nm wavelength laser rather than automotive class scanners that use 905nm wavelength lasers. These lower class sensors suffer from much noisier point clouds and lower level of conformance. With less noise the accuracy and precision of the point cloud is superior to those lower class lidar systems. The fidelity of details in the point cloud are on a higher level.
The acquisition of the TV540 represents our commitment to providing our clients with the highest data quality utilizing a reliable, accurate lidar sensor with high end results and industry leading comprehensive software built for geospatial professionals.
